On Saturday, May 5, 2018, I was able to volunteer at BRAVE: This Is Me – an empowerment conference for girls 12-18 years old (mostly those in foster care). Over 200 people participated (the expectation was 100!) Our Mentor Program brochure was included in many of the Swag bags they received. Two of the young ladies I mentor attended and thoroughly enjoyed the day which ended with an inspirational message from Captain Lisa Barnes.Brave seeks to remind all girls that they are valuable, and encourages them to dream big dreams for their future.
