Mentor Training is scheduled for Saturday, August 5th, 2017 ~ 10:30 – 12 noon at the Kent Regional Library in the big conference room. The manuals are being proofed and will be ready for distribution. We’ll have time for an overview and discussion regarding the contents. Sgt Andrew Grove of the Kent Police Dept. will be on hand to share with us about the “grooming” process and what to look for regarding sex trafficking. The more we educate ourselves the better we can serve our young ladies. I’m sending out an Evite reminder as that has proven to be the best way for me to know who’s attending and prepare name tags.

(Volunteers are welcome to attend if they’re interested in overall information on how the mentoring process will work)
Directly after our session (and in the same room) is our  Resource Fair.  Over 14 organizations have agreed to display their services and information to anyone who attends. It’s an Open House type atmosphere and we’ve been promoting it wherever and however we can including the Kent DSHS and CPS offices, Valley Cities, King County Library System (Kent, Auburn, Pacific Algona), Auburn Food Bank, King County Housing Authorities, Kent Commons (just to name a few places) and local stores and restaurants have the flyer in their window.
If you can get it on your Facebook page and spread the word, the better attended it will be.
Kent Reporter ran a press release and it’s included on EventBrite. Safeway, QFC and Joanne Lewis are donating refreshments and I’m waiting to hear back from a few other stores.  Please plan to at least meet these resource representatives and hear what they have to offer. The more we educate ourselves the better we can serve our young ladies
