Our Story

Eileen & Callie's Place is a 501(c)(3) organization committed to supporting young women impacted by the foster care system or experiencing family instability.

Our three pillars of service are: empower, educate, and coach.

  • We empower by creating a new normal through self-actualization.

  • We educate based on individualized plans and goals for each young woman we serve.

  • We make a long-term commitment to coach and support a productive, independent lifestyle.

Founded in 2014 by Dr. Natalie Ellington, Eileen & Callie's Place was born from a heart cry during divine transition. Years earlier, Dr. Ellington learned about the plight of young girls aged out of the foster care system; the cliff of stepping into adulthood without the family, stability, or guidance. Though she was deeply moved, life’s demands at the time pushed this concern to the back burner.

In 2010, after losing her job and launching a consulting firm, Dr. Ellington found herself weary from the relentless search for clients and financial survival. In a moment of surrender, she made a life-changing prayer, "Lord, I need to be involved in something bigger than myself, and I can't spend my time just trying to pay my bills." The answer came quickly, a reminder of those young women who needed hope and direction came back to the forefront of her heart. This desire to do something meaningful became her life’s mission.

Named after her mother (Eileen) and her mother-in-law (Callie), two women with a legacy of compassion and generosity who often helped many outside of their immediate family.  The initial plan was a two-year "transitional home,” but as Dr. Ellington listened and learned from countless young women, she discovered their deepest desire was a genuine connection. Guided by Jeremiah 29:11 ''For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope," the mission became clear. Eileen & Callie’s place was created to offer hope and a vision of a great future.

A board of directors was soon formed, non-profit status was secured, and Eileen & Callie’s Place began the development process of an organization that would empower, educate, and coach these young ladies for life. Surrounded by a community of compassion, guidance, and support, Eileen & Callie’s Place is devoted to awakening the beauty and potential that life’s circumstances may have forced into hiding.

Today, our vision has expanded to include safe housing, mentorship, and life-enrichment experiences that help each young woman discover her unique gifts, pursue dreams, and step confidently into independence.
