Celebrate 18! Update
|Celebrate 18! provided an opportunity for young ladies aging out of foster care to be pampered with new clothes, shoes, jewelry, a haircut, and make up if they wanted. The event ended with a catered dinner, the Happy Birth-day song – complete with candled cupcakes, gifts, gifts, and more gifts, and a rose. It was an event unlike any other!|
“I feel like I was actually loved and supported by others.”
Five successful foster alumni shared
“Messages to my 18-year old self.”
|You’re not alone.|
We all deal with anxiety, you just know yours and it seems
Allow yourself the time to heal.
Find that thing in you that keeps you going.
Before I could say “I love you” I simply said “I care about you“.
You are not your circumstances. You are not defined by your past.
Don’t be afraid!

population needed to know they were not forgotten but cared about and
loved. From 22″ rolling duffel bags (of various styles & colors) to hand- made fragranced soaps to makeup by Mary Kay specialists and hairstyles by The Beyond Project every girl received individual attention.
The Ruby Room brought racks of “party dresses” and the volunteers made sure the girls were treated like royalty throughout the room. The full ess-ence of the event was captured by Olivia Sullivan, reporter for the Federal Way Mirror:
